Canberra, Australian Capital Territory; Ulmarra, Nymboida, Sydney, New South Wales

On Saturday 7 December 2019, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled to Ulmarra, New South Wales as guests of Assistant Commissioner Rebel Talbert, NSW Rural Fire Service.

There, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley meet with staff and volunteers at the Clarence Valley Fire Control Centre and received a briefing on recent bushfires in the Clarence Valley region.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled to Nymboida where they visited the Nymboida Recovery Centre and met with community members affected by bushfires.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley returned to Ulmarra where they visited the new Clarence Valley Aviation Support Centre facility and met with staff and volunteers of the RFS and NSW State Emergency Service.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled to Sydney, New South Wales
