On Saturday 4 March 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, to Wangaratta, Victoria.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Tim Wiebusch ESM, Chief Officer Operations, Victoria State Emergency Service, attended a National Emergency Medal Presentation ceremony for members of the Victoria State Emergency Service.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled to Melbourne, Victoria.
