Ceremonial Arrival of the President of the Republic of Seychelles; State Lunch in honour of the President of the Republic of Seychelles
On Tuesday 23 August 2011, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC attended the Ceremonial Arrival of the President of the Republic of Seychelles, His Excellency Mr James Alix Michel.
Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the Australian High Commissioner to the Republic of Seychelles, Ms Sandra Vegting.
Later, the Governor-General received the President of the Republic of Seychelles.
Then, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a State Lunch in honour of the President of the Republic of Seychelles. Guests included: Mr Jean-Paul Adam; His Excellency Mr Dick Esparon; Dr Rolph Payet; Mr Alain St Ange; Ms Srdjana Janosevic; Mr Gervais Moumou; Air Marshal Mark Binskin AO; the Honourable Dr Craig Emerson MP; Mr Bill Fisher; the Honourable Teresa Gambaro MP; Professor Jeanette Hacket; Ms Louise Hand PSM; Mrs Pamela Heydon; Mr Harry Jenkins MP; Ms Catherine Johnstone; Associate Professor Ron Johnstone; Mr Alan Mackay and Mrs Beth Mackay; Senator Stephen Parry and Mrs Allison Parry; Mr Bill Repard and Ms Jane Prendiville; Ms Sandra Vegting; His Excellency Mr Pedro Villagra Delgado; Mr Andrew Wood and Mrs Emma Wood; and Professor Paul Zimmet AO and Mrs Vivien Zimmet.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the Vice Chief of the Defence Force, Air Marshal Mark Binskin AO.
Earlier, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the Governor-General of New Zealand, His Excellency the Right Honourable Sir Anand Satyanand GNZM QSO, by Colonel Allan Murray CSM ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
