The Children's Medical Research Institute; Australian Defence College

On Wednesday 10 November 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Chief Scout, received from Scouts Australia the Chief Commissioner, Mr Reg Williams RFD; the National Chief Executive, Mr Richard Miller; and the Chair of the National Executive Committee, Mr David Jones AM.

Afterwards, the Governor-General attended The Children’s Medical Research Institute lunch.

Later, the Governor-General received the Director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum, Dr Piotr Cywinski, and the Director-General of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, Mr Jacek Kastelaniec.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception for the 2010 overseas course members from the Australian Defence College.

Earlier, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Marcus Stephen MP, by Commander Piers Chatterton ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Later, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Vanuatu, His Excellency Mr Iolu Johnson Abbil, by Commander Theodore Wynberg ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
