On Tuesday 10 August 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Patron-in-Chief of the Constitution Education Fund Australia, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a morning tea for participants of the ‘Ride for Democracy’ campaign.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received a farewell call from the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Excellency Dr Rajab Mohammed A Sukayri, and Mrs Nehad Abdel Wahab Abdullah Sukayri.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of The Order of Australia, and Mr Bryce hosted a ceremony at which the Governor-General invested Ms Olivia Newton-John AO OBE as an Officer of the Order of Australia.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received a farewell call from the High Commissioner for the Republic of Mauritius, Her Excellency Mrs Marie France Roussety.
Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a reception for students and staff from the Australian National Internships Program.
In the evening, at the Canberra Theatre Centre, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the opening night performance of the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s ‘Romeo & Juliet’.
