Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith VC investiture; Visit to the flood-affected areas of Carnarvon, Western Australia

On Sunday 23 January 2011, at Campbell Barracks, Swanbourne WA, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended an Investiture Ceremony at which the Governor-General invested Corporal Benjamin Roberts-Smith MG with the insignia of the Victoria Cross for Australia, followed by a lunch in honour of Corporal Roberts-Smith VC MG.

Afterwards, at Carnarvon, Western Australia, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce inspected flood damage to local property along the Gascoyne River.

In the evening, at the Carnarvon Yacht Club, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a barbecue dinner with members of the local community affected by the recent floods.
