Credential Ceremonies and Reception; Reception for the Puuya Foundation

On Tuesday 27 September 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Dr Christoph Müller, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Matthias Sonn (Minister) and Lieutenant Colonel Bernd Pfaffenbach (Defence Attaché).

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Michael Teo, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Singapore. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Teng Hoe Chua (Deputy High Commissioner), Ms Rozana Abdul Majid (First Secretary) and Mr Siong Chye Sim (First Secretary). The Governor-General also received Mrs Joyce Teo.

Later, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Taeyong Cho, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Wahn-Seong Jeong (Minister), Mr Hoo Young Park (Minster-Counsellor) and Colonel Dae-Hee Ahn (Defence Attaché).

Then, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Ms Anna Sikó, Letters of Credence accrediting her as the Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary. The Ambassador was accompanied by Dr Károly Sárdi (Counsellor) and Dr Endre Domaniczky (Third Secretary). The Governor-General also received Mr Robert Summerfield.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Mrs Belen Anota, Letters of Credence accrediting her as the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Mary Anne Padua (Minister), Captain Ernesto Enriquez (Defence and Armed Forces Attaché) and Mr Jalilo Dela Torre (Labour Attaché).

Later, the Governor-General hosted a reception to welcome new and recently arrived Heads of Mission in the Canberra Diplomatic Corps.

In the evening, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a reception for the Puuya Foundation, at which the Governor-General launched (in New South Wales) the latest edition of Ms Margaret Sommerville's book 'They Crossed a Continent'.
