Credential Ceremonies; Foodbank Australia Reception

On Thursday 23 February 2012, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received from His Excellency Mr Noel White, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of Ireland. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Orla Tunney (First Secretary). The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Ms Nessa Delaney.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Ri Jong Ryul, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Jang Yong Hwan (Counsellor), and Mr Choe Ui Il (Third Secretary).

Later, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Markos Tekle Rike, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Graham Romanes (Honorary Consul-General) and Mr Feleke Gessese (Second Secretary).

Then, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a reception for Foodbank Australia, at which the Governor-General, as Patron, presented the Foodbank Australia Hall of Fame Award to Mr Michael Luscombe, and the Foodbank Australia Patron’s Award to the General Counsel of Lion, Mr Duncan Makeig.
