Credential Ceremonies; Group Training Australia; Launch of Emergency Architects Australia

On Thursday 25 August 2011, Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Mr Nasir Ahmed Andisha, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Abdul Khaliq Arsala (Counsellor), Mr Fazal Katawazai (First Secretary) and Mr Wais Sidiqi (Second Secretary). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Jyotsna Hamida Andisha.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Raouf Chatty, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Zied Saadaoui (Counsellor) and Mr Nizar Hammedi (First Secretary).The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mrs Houda Chatty.

Later, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Mrs Salome Thaddaus Sijaona, Letters of Commission accrediting her as the High Commissioner for the United Republic of Tanzania. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mrs Jilly Maleko (Minister Counsellor).

Then, at the Australian Institute of Sport, Bruce, the Governor-General, as Patron, visited Group Training Australia’s National Leadership Program, and met with staff and program participants.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Manager of the Restorative Justice Unit of the Department of Justice and Community Safety, Dr Nova Inkpen.

Earlier, Mr Bryce received the Founding Director of Emergency Architects Australia, Ms Andrea Nield.

Afterwards, at the National Gallery of Design, Parkes, Mr Bryce, as ‘Ambassador’, delivered an address at the launch of Emergency Architects Australia.

In the evening, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Seychelles, His Excellency Mr James Alix Michel, by Brigadier Christopher Hamilton ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
