Credential Ceremonies; Official Opening of Lady Heydon House

On Wednesday 20 February 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received from His Excellency Mr Pasi Patokallio, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Juha Parikka (Minister Counsellor) and Ms Mari Koukonen (Attaché). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Raija Patokallio.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Nabil Lakhal, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Mohamed Nejib Gorgi (Counsellor) and Mr Nizar Hammedi (First Secretary).

Later, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Dr Clemencia Forero, Letters of Credence accrediting her as the Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Olga Bula (Deputy Head of Mission).

Then, in Spence, the Governor-General, in recognition of the World Day of Social Justice, as Patron of the Young Women’s Christian Association and as guest of the Executive Director, Ms Rebecca Vassarotti, officially opened Lady Heydon House.

Earlier, at Government House, Canberra, Mr Bryce, received the Foundation Director of the National Security Institute, Lieutenant General Peter Leahy AC (Ret’d).
