Credentials
On Wednesday 26 June 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received from His Excellency Mr Nabil Al Saleh, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Reda Alnuzha (Counsellor) and Dr Abdulaziz Bin Taleb (Cultural Attaché). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Muneera Al Hammadi.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Rovshan Jamshidov, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Aroz Khasiyev (Attaché).
Later, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Haji Zakaria Haji Ahmad, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for Brunei Darussalam. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mrs Yaty Yassin (Second Secretary), Mr Syed Addy Adnan (Third Secretary) and Ms Hafilah Ajimain (Third Secretary). The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mrs Hajah Norzanah Mohd Hashim.
Then, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Manuel Alfredo Gutiérrez Ruiz, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Diana Vanegas (Minister Counsellor) and Mr Lester Caballero (Chargé of Financial Affairs).
Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Bong-Hyun Kim, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Whan-Seong Jeong (Minister), Mr Hyung-Tae Kim (Counsellor) and Colonel Dae-Hee Ahn (Defence Attaché). The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mrs Jung-Soon Kim.
Later, the Governor-General hosted a Credentials reception.
In the evening, the Governor-General received the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia, the Honourable Julia Gillard MP.
Earlier, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of Kiribati, His Excellency Mr Anote Tong, by Brigadier Allan Murray CSM ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
Later, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of Kiribati, by Commander Ted Wynberg ADC RAN, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
