Credentials ceremonies

On Thursday 27 February 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, received from His Excellency Mr Martin Pohl, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Czech Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Miroslav Píša (Deputy Head of Mission), Mr Hani Stolina (Head of Sydney Consulate) and Mrs Šárka Ponroy Vamberová (Commercial Counsellor). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Karolína Pohlová.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Miroljub Petrovic, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Zoran Marinkovic (First Secretary). The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mrs Zdenka Sladoja-Petrovic.

Later, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Armando Gonzalo Alvarez Reina, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of Mexico. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Victor Treviño (Deputy Chief of Mission) and Ms Maria Luisa Gonzalez (Minister). The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Ms Gladys Tenorio.

Then, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Ms Emilia Stefanova-Veleva, Letters of Credence accrediting her as the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Kamen Koutsarov (Deputy Head of Mission) and Mrs Evgeniya Tomova-Koutsarova (Assistant to the Consul). The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mr Rumen Velev.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Nghi Luong, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Tam Trinh (Minister Counsellor), Mrs Huong Nguyen (Counsellor) and Ms Chau Le (Third Secretary). The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Ms Hong Nguyen.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted to dinner General Peter Cosgrove AC MC (Retd) and Mrs Lynne Cosgrove.
