Credentials ceremonies; Lunch for newly accredited Heads of Mission; Small Dining Room dinner
On Wednesday 29 October 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) received from His Excellency Mr Isaiya Kabira, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Kenya. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Munyasya Mwangangi (Minister Counsellor), Mr Maurice Amisi (Counsellor) and Ms Mary Thiongo (Administrative Attaché). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Betty Kabira.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Burhanudeen Gafoor, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Singapore. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Ms Lynnette Long (Deputy High Commissioner), Colonel Kin Yi Ng (Defence Advisor) and Ms Fiona Zhang (Second Secretary). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Ms Zarina Gafoor.
Later, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Kazi Imtiaz Hossain, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Dr Nasim Ahmed (Commercial Counsellor), Ms Wahida Ahmed (Counsellor) and Moss Nazma Akther (First Secretary). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Rabab Fatima.
Then, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Mrs Naela Chohan, Letters of Commission accrediting her as the High Commissioner for the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Ms Asima Rabbani (Deputy High Commissioner), Brigadier Muhammad Asghar (Defence Advisor) and Mr Usman Waqqas. The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mr Musa Javed Chohan.
Then, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch in honour of newly accredited Heads of Mission. Guests included: Ms Wahida Ahmed; Mr Chris Cannan; Her Excellency Mrs Naela Chohan and Mr Musa Javed Chohan; His Excellency Mr Burhanudeen Gafoor and Ms Zarina Gafoor; His Excellency Mr Kazi Imtiaz Hossain and Mrs Rabab Fatima; His Excellency Mr Isaiya Kabira and Mrs Betty Kabira; Ms Lynette Long; Mr Munyasya Mbutu Mwangangi; Ms Asima Rabbani; His Excellency Mr Pedro Raul Villagra Delgado; and Mr Ric Wells.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a Small Dining Room dinner. Guests included: Mr Dennis Richardson AO and Mrs Betty Richardson; Mr Ric Smith AO PSM and Mrs Jan Smith; and Mr Allan Gyngell AO and Mrs Catherine Gyngell.
