On Saturday 1 June 2019, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Major General Mark Kelly AO DSC (Retd), Colonel Commandant, Royal Australian Regiment, attend the 5th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR), Colours Parade at Bicentennial Park, Darwin.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Honourable Kon Vatskalis, Lord Mayor of Darwin, attended a reception commemorating the Consecration and Presentation of the 5RAR Colours, at the Darwin Civic Centre.
