Darwin, Northern Territory

On Saturday 20 July 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, conducted a radio interview with ABC Sydney.  

Then, the Governor-General conducted a radio interview with ABC Darwin.  

Later, the Governor-General as guest of Commander Chelsea Livingstone RAN, visited HMAS Coonawarra and was provided a tour of ADV Cape Pillar.  

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guests of Major Willem Schoombie visited and met with Defence Personnel at NORFORCE Headquarters.  

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Air Commodore Pete Robinson, Officer Conducting Exercise Pitch Black, visited the Exercise Pitch Black Open Day at Royal Australian Air Force Base Darwin.  

Later, the Governor-General as guest of Captain Milos Argenton, Commanding Officer, attended lunch onboard and was provided a tour of the Italian Aircraft Carrier ITS Cavour.  

Afterwards, the Governor-General as guest of Wing Commander Lauren Guest, Commanding Officer 13 Squadron, visited 92 wing and was provided a tour of a P8 Maritime Patrol Aircraft.  

Then, the Governor-General provided an interview to Australian Defence Force Personnel.  

In the Evening, the Governor-General, as guest of His Honour, Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie AO PSM and Chief Judge Elizabeth Morris AM, attended dinner at Government House Darwin.
