On Thursday 2 February 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley attended the installation of His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie PSM as the 23rd Administrator of the Northern Territory.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General, as Prior of the Order of St John, invested His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie PSM as a Knight of Grace of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley as guests of His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie PSM and Ms Ruth Jones, attended lunch.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Darwin, Northern Territory, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
