Departure for an Official Visit to the Republic of Italy and the Kingdom of Spain; Reception hosted by the Australian Consul-General Hong Kong; Launch of the Sydney Omega Ensemble Patrons' Program; The Scots College 60th Annual Parade of Remembrance

On Sunday 29 May 2011, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE departed Australia on an official visit to the Republic of Italy and the Kingdom of Spain.

In the evening, at the residence of the Australian Consul-General, Hong Kong, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, attended a reception hosted in their honour by the Australian Consul-General, Mr Les Luck.

Earlier, in Sydney, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO.

Afterwards, at the Sydney Opera House, the Administrator attended the Sydney Omega Ensemble performance Top of the Pops, at which she launched the Sydney Omega Ensemble Patrons’ Program.

Later, at The Scots College, Sydney, the Administrator, as Guest of Honour, and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE, attended The Scots College 60th Annual Parade of Remembrance.
