Departure for State Visit to New Zealand

On Sunday 26 February 2012, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE departed Australia on a State Visit to New Zealand.

Earlier, in Sydney, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO.

Later, at Government House, Auckland, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, attended a dinner as guests of the Governor-General of New Zealand, His Excellency the Right Honourable Lieutenant General Sir Jerry Mateparae GNZM QSO, and Lady Janine.

Earlier, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency the Honourable Anote Tong MP, by Commander Theodore Wynberg ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
