On Friday 24 March 2017, at Ferguson Park, Enoggera, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Royal Australian Regiment Association Queensland, Lieutenant Colonel Ted Chitham MC OAM (Retd), opened the new Royal Australian Regiment memorial.

In the afternoon, at Spicers Retreat, Grandchester, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Flight Centre Travel Group Limited, Mr Graham Turner, opened the Hidden Vale UQ Wildlife Centre.

Afterwards, at Aratula State School, Aratula, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with teachers, staff and students.

In the evening, at the Warwick Showgrounds, Warwick, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman of the Warwick Show Committee, Mr John Wilson, opened the 150th Warwick Annual Show.
