Federal Executive Council; HMAS Kuttabul Ceremonial Divisions; Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour ‘Turandot’ opening night performance

On Thursday 24 March 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, onboard HMAS Adelaide, Fleet Base East, Sydney, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief and as guest of the Commander Australian Fleet, Rear Admiral Stuart Mayer CSC and Bar RAN, attended the HMAS Kuttabul Ceremonial Divisions, at which the Governor-General presented the Gloucester Cup to the Commanding Officer, HMAS Melbourne, Commander William Waters RAN on behalf of the Ship’s Company.

In the evening, at the Fleet Steps, Mrs Macquaries Point, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Opera Australia, Mr David Mortimer AO and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Craig Hassall AM, attended the Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour opening night performance of ‘Turandot’.
