Federal Executive Council; Issue of Writs for the 2013 Federal Election; Alola Foundation MILK afternoon tea

On Monday 5 August 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Official Secretary to the Governor-General, Mr Stephen Brady CVO, read the Governor-General’s proclamation to prorogue the Parliament and to dissolve the House of Representatives.

Following the prorogation of the Parliament and dissolution of the House of Representatives, the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council to issue the writs for the 2013 Federal Election.

Earlier, at the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, the Governor-General, as Patron, and guest of the Founder of the Alola Foundation, Ms Kirsty Sword Gusmão, attended an afternoon tea in support of the Alola Foundation’s MILK campaign.
