Federal Executive Council; Swearing-in Ceremony

On Wednesday 18 September 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General issued the Instrument of Appointment and Oath of Office to newly appointed Prime Minister, the Honourable Tony Abbott MP.

Afterwards, the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Later, the Governor-General issued the Instruments of Appointment of Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries to their respective new offices.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Australian-American artist, Ms Denise Green AM.

Earlier, at the Residence of the Ambassador of the Italian Republic, Deakin, Mr Bryce attended a lunch as guest of the Ambassador, His Excellency Gian Ludovico De Martino Di Montegiordano.

In the evening, at the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery, Bungendore, Mr Bryce, as guest of the Artistic Director, Mr David MacLaren, and cabinet maker, Mr Geoff Hannah, attended a viewing of The Hannah Cabinet.
