Federal Executive Council; Swearing-in of the Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police; Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga Campus visit; Official opening of the 150th Wagga Wagga Show

On Thursday 2 October 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a ceremony at which the Governor-General administered the Oath of Office of the Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police, Commissioner Andrew Colvin APM OAM.

Later, at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andrew Vann, visited the Faculty of Science and met with staff and students.

Then, at the Wagga Wagga Showgrounds, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Wagga Show Society Inc, Mr Brett Grant, visited the 150th Wagga Wagga Show at which the Governor-General officially opened the occasion.
