Federal Executive Council; Visit to the Australian Commonwealth Games Association; Toorak Services Club Annual Dinner

On Thursday 28 August 2014, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the High Commissioner for the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Mr Michael Teo.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a morning tea for the 2014 Global Voices youth delegates.

Then, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Mr John Quinn.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of UN Women, Ms Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka; the Special Assistant to the Executive Director of UN Women, Mr Nicholas Burniat; the Director of the United Nations Information Centre, Mr Chris Woodthorpe; the Executive Director of the Australian National Committee for UN Women, Ms Julie McKay; and UN Women Papua New Guinea Country Representative, Mr Jeffrey Buchanan.

Later, in Carlton, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Mr Sam Coffa AM, and the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Perry Crosswhite AM, visited the Australian Commonwealth Games Association.

In the evening, in Toorak, the Governor-General, as Patron, attended the Toorak Services Club Annual Dinner to commemorate their 60th anniversary.
