On Friday 11 May 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Australian Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Serbia, Ms Clare Birgin.
Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Patron of the Wildlife Preservation Society of Australia, hosted an afternoon tea at which the National President, Mr Patrick Medway AM, presented the Governor-General with a copy of Conservation Victories. In the evening, at the Australian National University, Acton, the Governor-General officially launched the book of collected texts: The First Ten K.R. Narayanan Orations: Essays by Eminent Persons on the Rapidly Transforming Indian Economy, edited by Professor Raghbendra Jha. Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the Governor-General of Tuvalu, His Excellency Reverend Filoimea Telito, by Colonel Dennis Scanlan CSM RFD, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
