On Friday, 13 July 2007, at St Christopher's Cathedral Manuka, ACT, the Administrator, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, attended the funeral service of the late General John Baker AC DSM, former Chief of the Defence Force.

In the evening, at The Women's College, University of Sydney NSW, the Administrator, as Patron of the Professor Harry Messel International Science School, delivered an address at the closing dinner for the 34th International Science School. At Gosselies in The Kingdom of Belgium, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of the Vice-Dean, Research Faculty of the Free University of Brussels, Professor Veronique Halloin visited the facilities of the Institute of Medical Immunology, at which the Governor-General delivered an address. In the evening, at the Residence of the Australian Ambassador to The Kingdom of Belgium, Their Excellencies attended a dinner hosted by His Excellency Dr Alan Thomas.
