On Friday 15 June 2007, at Darwin, Northern Territory, the Governor-General His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as a guest of Mr Stuart Kenny, Executive Director, NT Cattlemen's Association, and Mr Robert Ritchie, Chief Executive Officer, Port of Darwin Authority, toured the live cattle export industry facilities at the Port of Darwin.

In the evening, at Government House Darwin, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of the Administrator of the Northern Territory, His Honour Mr Ted Egan AO, and the President of the Government House Foundation, Mrs Nerys Evans, attended the Foundation Southern Lights Gala Ball.
