On Friday 16 April 2010, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE departed Australia on an Official Visit to the Republic of Poland.

Earlier, at Sydney Airport, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO. Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE attended, and the Administrator conducted, an investiture ceremony.
