On Friday 20 April 2007, at Morshead Veterans' Home, Lyneham ACT, the Governor-General His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Her??Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the War Widows' Field of Remembrance Dedication Service, at which the Governor-General, as Patron of War Widows' Guild of Australia, delivered the address and afterwards, together with Mrs??Jeffery, Patron of War Widows' Guild of Australia (ACT) Inc, placed a Cross of Remembrance.

In the evening, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies hosted a reception to celebrate the 81st Birthday of Her Majesty The Queen. Later, at Canberra Stadium, the Governor-General, as Patron-in-Chief of Brumbies Rugby, and Mrs Jeffery attended the Investec Super 14 Competition Match: CA Brumbies versus Emirates Western Force.
