On Friday 20 March 2009, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO received the Chief Executive Officer of the Melba Foundation, Ms Maria Vandamme.

Afterwards, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE met with the President of the Republic of Vanuatu, His Excellency Mr Kalkot Matas Kelekele. In the afternoon, the Administrator addressed School Captains from 33 New South Wales Government secondary schools. In the evening, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas attended the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Cardiology 2009 Conference Dinner at which the Administrator delivered an address. The Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE departed Namibia on a State Visit to the Republic of Zambia. In the afternoon, at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel, Lusaka, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce were guests of honour at a State Luncheon hosted by the President of the Republic of Zambia, His Excellency Mr Rupiah Banda. Afterwards, at the State House, Lusaka, the Governor-General was received by the President of the Republic of Zambia, His Excellency Mr Rupiah Banda. Later, at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel, Lusaka, the Governor-General received the Founding President of Zambia, Mr Kenneth Kaunda. Then, in Lusaka, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce as guests of the Managing Director, Dr Peter Mwaba, toured the University Teaching Hospital.
