On Friday 25 June 2010, at Windorah, Queensland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Mayor of Barcoo Shire Council, Councillor Bruce Scott, attended a lunch on the banks of Cooper Creek.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Principal, Ms Peta Mason, met with students, staff and parents at Windorah State School. Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the District Nurse, Mrs Anne Kidd, visited the Windorah Primary Health Care Clinic. In the evening, at the Windorah Community Centre, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a Civic Reception hosted in their honour by the Mayor of Barcoo Shire Council, and together, officially opened the Windorah Community Centre. Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the Barcoo Shire Australia Day Awards Ceremony, at which the Governor-General presented Australia Day Awards and Appreciation Awards to members of the local community. Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the Barcoo Shire Ball.
