On Friday, 31 August 2007, at New Farm, Queensland, the Administrator, Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC delivered the address at the Moreton Club Governor's Luncheon.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Queensland, the Administrator received Professor Kevin Clements, Foundation Director, Australian Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Queensland; and Dr Jennifer Simons, President of the Simons Foundation. In the evening, at City Hall, Brisbane, the Administrator and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Lord Mayoral Asia Pacific Cities Summit Welcome Dinner, at which the Administrator delivered the welcome address. Earlier, the Administrator was represented at Darwin International Airport at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Democratic Republic of East Timor, His??Excellency Dr Jose Manuel Ramos-Horta, by Brigadier C. Orme CSC, an??Honorary Aide-de-Camp At Merdeka Square, Kuala Lumpur, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as a guest of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah, attended the National Day Parade. Afterwards, at Istana Melawati, the Governor-General, as a guest of Their Majesties the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Raja Permaisuri, attended a High-Tea. In the evening, at Meredeka Stadium, the Governor-General, as a guest of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, attended the Grand Celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of Independence.
