On Friday 4 May 2007, at, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of Her Worship the Mayor of the City of Albany, Ms Alison Goode, JP visited Albany, Western Australia and were conducted on a guided tour of the Princess Royal Fortress; Desert Mounted Corps Memorial; Albany wind farm; and waterfront development initiatives including Amity Heritage Precinct.

Afterwards, at The Rocks Guesthouse, Their Excellencies met business and community leaders at a Civic Luncheon hosted by the Mayor. In the evening, at the Albany Golf Club, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery, as guests of the Mayor, attended a Civic Reception held in their honour.
