On Friday 7 December 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received a farewell call by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, His Excellency Mr Karel Pazourek.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a luncheon for Major Nicholas Wilson ADC, to mark the completion of his term as Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General. Major Wilson will be replaced by Captain Raefe Kirk-Lauritsen. In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery hosted a reception for the Friends of Government House. Earlier, Mrs Jeffery, as Patron of Girls' Brigade Australia, presented The Queen's Award to a member of the Girls' Brigade ACT.
