G20 Summit Heads of State arrivals; Visit to G20 Operations Centre; Meeting with G20 Volunteers; G20 briefing

On Friday 14 November 2014, at Brisbane Airport, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Mr Joko Widodo.

Afterwards, in Brisbane, the Governor-General, as guest of the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, met with staff and volunteers at the G20 Operations Centre.

Then, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Governor-General met with volunteers assisting with arrangements for the G20 Leaders Summit.

In the evening, at the Rydges Hotel, the Governor-General received a briefing on the G20 Leaders Summit by the Assistant Secretary Economic Policy Branch of the G20 Policy Division, Mr Jason Russo.

Afterwards, at Brisbane Airport, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the arrival in Australia of the President of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Mr Xi Jinping.

Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Islamic Republic of Senegal, His Excellency Mr Macky Sall, by Mr Mark Fraser LVO OAM, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

Afterwards, at Brisbane Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Korea, Her Excellency Ms Park Geun-hye, by Mr Mark Fraser LVO OAM, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

Later, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Palau, His Excellency Mr Tommy Remengesau Jr, by Colonel Michael Miller RFD ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Then, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency the Honourable Anote Tong MP, by Group Captain Graeme Davies CSC ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Afterwards, at Brisbane Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, His Excellency Mr Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, by Mr Mark Fraser LVO OAM, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

Later, at Brisbane Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Russian Federation, His Excellency Mr Vladimir Putin, by Mr Mark Fraser LVO OAM, Official Secretary to the Governor-General.
