On Saturday 20 May 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Ms Amanda Locke, Centre Manager, met with staff and visitors at the Leisurelink Aquatic and Recreation Centre.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Simon White, Deputy Chief Officer, Victorian State Emergency Service, met with volunteer members of the Victoria State Emergency Services at the Barwon Unit.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Cr Trent Sullivan, Mayor, City of Greater Geelong, attended a lunch with Councillors, Youth Council members and representatives of the Greater Geelong City Council’s advisory committees.  

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Dr Helene Bender AM, Chair, The Order of Australia Association (Victoria Branch), attended The Order of Australia Association’s conference dinner.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Geelong, Victoria, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
