On Friday 13 April 2018, at Optus Aquatic Centre, Southport, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove as guests of President, Australian Commonwealth Games Association, Mr Sam Coffa AM, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games women's 1m springboard diving preliminary final and men's synchronised 10m platform diving final. Afterwards, Lady Cosgrove participated in the men's synchronised 10m platform diving final victory ceremony.

In the afternoon, at Broadbeach Bowls Club, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of President, Bowls Australia, Mr Darryl Clout, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games men's four's lawn bowls final. Afterwards, the Governor-General presented medals at the women’s pairs lawn bowls victory ceremony.

In the evening, at Robina Stadium, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of CEO, Rugby Australia, Ms Raelene Castle ONZM, attended the 2018 Commonwealth Games women’s pool B rugby sevens match between Australia and Wales.

Later, at Carrara Stadium, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of CEO, Australian Commonwealth Games Association, Mr Craig Phillips, attended the evening athletics finals session.
