Governor-General Vanuatu Independence Day Flag Raising Ceremony; Reception hosted by the President of Vanuatu; Vanuatu Cultural Centre; National Archives and Library Building Official Handing-Over ceremony. Administrator International Grammar School's International Day Assembly; Indigenous Australians Exhibition.

On Friday 30 July 2010, at Ultimo, New South Wales, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO delivered an address at the International Grammar School’s International Day Assembly.

Afterwards, at St Ives Uniting Church, New South Wales, the Administrator attended the funeral service for the late Mr Jeff Dobell.

Later, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator received the Sultan of Yogyakarta, His Excellency Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, and former Consul-General of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr Sudaryomo Hartosudarmo.

Then, at the Australian Museum, Sydney, the Administrator attended a reception and viewed the Indigenous Australians Exhibition, to celebrate the success and potential of The University of New South Wales Medicine Indigenous Alumni.

Earlier, at Independence Park, Port Vila, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE represented the Government and people of Australia at the Independence Day Flag Raising Ceremony in recognition of Vanuatu’s 30th Anniversary of Independence.

Later, at Vanuatu State House, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a reception hosted by the Acting President of the Republic of Vanuatu, the Honourable George Wells.

In the afternoon, at the Vanuatu Cultural Centre, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chief Librarian, Ms June Norman, viewed the permanent collection and the 30th Anniversary of Independence exhibition.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a ceremony, at which the Governor-General delivered an address to formally gift the National Archives and Library Building to the people of Vanuatu from the people of Australia.
