Governor-General visits Nauru

The Governor-General visited the Republic of Nauru as part of her continuing visits to Australia’s Pacific neighbours.

Ms Bryce received a Ceremonial Welcome and a police Guard of Honour on her arrival at the Government Offices before meeting with the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Sprent Dabwido.

The Governor-General also called on the Speaker of Parliament, the Honourable Ludwig Scotty and viewed the Parliamentary Chamber.

Later, Ms Bryce met Australian community members living in Nauru and leading Nauruan women in the Parliament Members’ Lounge.
