Governor-General visits Rideau Secondary High School
The Principal of Rideau Secondary High School, Mr Geordie Walker, welcomed the Governor-General and the Australian Indigenous delegation to the school for discussions on diversity, multiculturalism and the mentoring of students.
The school caters for the largest number of aboriginal students in Ottawa and over half the total students speak a language other than English.
Later, the Governor-General spoke of Australia’s multiculturalism during a keynote address at the Global Centre for Pluralism in Ottawa.
