International Day of the Older Person; Day of Germany Unity

On Friday 1 October 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Director of Acumen Owners Corporation Management, Ms Trish Blackman, and Ms Helen Bondaruk.

Afterwards, the Governor-General hosted a lunch in recognition of the International Day of the Older Person. Guests include: Mrs Raewyn Bastion; Ms Robyn Beetham; Ms Sylvia Cleland; Ms Marie Coleman PSM; Ms Franchesca Cubillo; The Reverend Elaine Farmer; Mrs Carolyn Forster OAM; Ms Denise Hagan; Ms Lorraine Higgins; Ms Dottie Hobson; Ms Lucy Hobson; Mrs Jenny Jarvis; Ms Caroline Joske; Mrs Helen Mclaughlin; Professor Margo Neale; Mrs Mary O’Reary; Councillor Veronica Piva; Ms Mary Porter AM MLA; Ms Tonia Shand AM; Mrs Elinor Swan; Ms Kerrie Tim; and Mrs Joy Warren OAM.

Later, at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Canberra, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a reception to celebrate the Day of Germany Unity.

Earlier, at the Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Marcus Stephen MP, by Group Captain Guy Burton ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Afterwards, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the transit through Australia of the Governor-General of New Zealand, His Excellency the Right Honourable Sir Anand Satyanand GNZM QSO, by Colonel Stephen Alexander ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
