International Nurses and Midwives Week Remembrance ceremony; Farewell dinner for Lieutenant General Ash Power AO CSC

On Tuesday 6 May 2014, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director, Australian War Memorial, the Honourable Dr Brendan Nelson, and the ACT Chief Nurse, Ms Veronica Croome, attended the International Nurses and Midwives Week Remembrance ceremony.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, received the Secretary, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Dr Ian Watt AO.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a farewell dinner for the Chief of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Ash Power AO CSC. Guests included: Mr Trevor Biffin and Mrs Kerryn Biffin; Air Marshal Mark Binskin AC; Mr Frank Colley AM CSC and Mrs Janice Colley; Colonel Stephen Goltz (Retd) and Mrs Denise Goltz; General David Hurley AC DSC and Mrs Linda Hurley; Brigadier Peter Hutchinson DSC (Retd) and Mrs Kate Hutchinson; Major General Mark Kelly AO DSC and Mrs Gabrielle Kelly; Commander Paul Osborne and Mrs Jane Osborne; Major General Roger Powell AM (Retd) and Mrs Rhonda Powell; Mrs Narelle Power; and Mr Rob Steel and Mrs Kerry Steel.
