Investiture Ceremony; 70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea; Investiture Dinner
On Thursday 3 May 2012, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended, and the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, conducted an investiture ceremony.
In the afternoon, at Australian-American Memorial, Sir Thomas Blamey Square, Russell Offices, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the President of the Canberra Division of the Australian-American Association, Ms Bronwyn Halbisch, attended the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea Commemorative Service at which the Governor-General laid a wreath.
In the evening, at Government House, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted an investiture dinner. Earlier, at the Sydney Opera House, the Governor-General was represented at the State Memorial Service for the late Mr James Osland Little AO, by Colonel Michael Miller RFD ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
