Investiture Ceremony and Dinner
On Wednesday 5 October 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended, and the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, conducted an investiture ceremony.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the French Republic, Mr Ric Wells.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a dinner in honour of investiture recipients. Guests included: Dr Robyn Alders AO; Mr Tony Bewley BM and Mrs Andrea Bewley; Ms Marie Coleman AO PSM and Dr Elizabeth Coleman; Commissioner Mark Crosweller AFSM and Dr Carolyn Cuello; Mr Joshua Heggie BM and Mr Chris Heggie; Senator Gary Humphries and Mrs Cathie Humphries; the Honourable Justice Susan Kiefel AC and Mr Michael Albrecht; Senator the Honourable Kate Lundy; Mr Jonathon Mills AO and Mr Benjamin Divall; the Right Reverend John Parkes AM and Mrs Margaret Parkes; Ms Lisa Paul AO PSM and Ms Linda Webb OAM; the Honourable Margaret Reid AO; and Mr Peter Rush and Mrs Rebecca Rush.
Earlier, at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Yarralumla, Mr Bryce, as guest of the Ambassador of Germany His Excellency Dr Christoph Müller, attended a reception to mark the Day of German Unity.
Afterwards, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival to Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Marcus Stephen MP, by Group Captain Brian Duddington AM ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
