Investiture Ceremony; Governor-General of New Zealand; Constellation Cup

On Sunday 30 October 2011, at Government House, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended an Investiture Ceremony at which the Governor-General, as Prior of the Order of St John, invested the Governor of Victoria, His Excellency Mr Alex Chernov AO, as the Deputy Prior of the Order of St John for the State of Victoria, and Mrs Elizabeth Chernov as a Dame of Grace.

Afterwards, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received His Excellency Lieutenant General the Right Honourable Sir Jerry Mateparae, Governor-General of New Zealand, and Lady Janine Mateparae. The Governor-General of New Zealand and Lady Mateparae were accompanied by His Excellency Martyn Dunne, New Zealand High Commissioner, and Mr Niels Holm, Official Secretary to the Governor-General of New Zealand.

Later, at Hisense Arena, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chief Executive of Netball Australia, Ms Kate Palmer, attended a pre-match lunch before observing the final test match of the Constellation Cup, between the Australian Diamonds and the New Zealand Silver ferns, at which the GG presented the Cup to the Diamonds.
