Jemalong Residential Village; Forbes Community Lunch; Parkes 'Opera at the Dish'

On Saturday 8 October 2011, at Jemalong Residential Village, Forbes, New South Wales, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chair of the Trustees of Catholic Healthcare, Sister Joanne Kirk, and in recognition of Palliative Care Day, met with residents, families and staff.

Later, at Wiradjuri Dreaming Centre, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce as guests of the Mayor of Forbes Shire Council, Councillor Phyllis Miller OAM, attended a lunch with representatives of Forbes' community groups.

Afterwards, at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation Parkes Radio Telescope, Parkes, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Mayor of Parkes Shire Council, Councillor Ken Keith and the President of Parkes Under the Stars, Mr Malcolm Stacey, attended the inaugural ‘Opera at the Dish’ event.
