On Monday 16 September 2019, Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Ashley Eversden, Principal, met with students and staff at Karratha High School.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Lieutenant Colonel Brett Grant DSM, Commanding Officer, visited the Pilbara Regiment, and attended a lunch with soldiers and their families.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, travelled to Roeburn, where, as guests of Mr Michael Woodley, CEO, Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation, they met with members of the Juluwarlu Aboriginal Corporation at the Ganlili Centre.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Scott Rankin, CEO and Artistic Director, met with staff and members of the Big hART New Roebourne Project at the Ngurin Cultural Centre.
