On Sunday 1 May 2016, at the Bayan Palace, Kuwait City, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended a briefing by the Australian Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, His Excellency Mr Warren Hauck.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

Later, the Governor-General received the Speaker of the National Assembly, His Excellency Marzouq Al-Ghanim.

Then, the Governor-General received the Prime Minister, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

Aterwards, the Governor-General met with the Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Amir, attended a State Lunch in their honour.

Then, at the Amricani Cultural Centre, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director General, Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah, Sheikha Hussah Al-Sabah, viewed the ‘Al-Sabah’ collection.

In the afternoon, at the residence of the Australian Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, His Excellency Mr Warren Hauck, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a reception and met with embassy staff and members of the Australian community in Kuwait.

In the evening, at the Kuwait Towers restaurant, the Governor-General, as guest of the Prime Minister, attended a dinner.
