On Monday 18 February 2019 in Launceston, Tasmania, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Marcus Allan, Vice Chairman, Tasmania Headstone Project, visited the Carr Villa Memorial Park.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Ms Vicki Mackrill, Principal, visited Launceston College. Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, hosted a lunch for Order of Australia recipients.

Then, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Nick Probert, State Manager, Beacon Foundation, visited Haywards Steel at Western Junction.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Richard Ford, Headmaster, met with students and staff at the Rooney IQ Centre at Launceston Church Grammar School’s Junior Campus.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove received a briefing from Alderman Albert Van Zetten, Mayor, Launceston City Council at Launceston Town Hall.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr Neil Grose, Executive Officer, Launceston Chamber of Commerce, attended an afternoon tea with members of the Chamber.
