On Friday 12 May 2017, at Campbell Town District High School, Launceston, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Ms Cindy Johnston viewed the facilities and met with staff and students.
Afterwards, at the Bicheno Returned and Services League, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Vice-President, Mr Tony Marriott, attended a community reception.
Later, at the East Coast Heritage Museum, Swansea, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the curator, Ms Maureen Martin-Ferris, viewed the facilities and met with staff.
In the afternoon, at the Swansea Returned and Services League, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Mr Colin Stevenson, attended a community reception.
In the evening, at the Orford Bowls Club, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the 2017 Keep Australia Beautiful Tidy Towns awards dinner where the Governor-General presented the 2017 Tidy Towns award to Barmera, SA.
